Santal sarees are special sarees worn by women of Eastern India, especially Santali women. Traditional and classic sarees from the tribal collection of regions like Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Bengal usually come in light colors like white, cream and beige. However, multiple shades, color combinations and printed versions are also available. Well, as fashion fads are changing, these handloom sarees are becoming a rage and gracefully draped by many women across India.

Experiment With The Vibrancy & Versatile Styles For The Fusion Look
The Santali saree comes in a variety of designs and stripes, florals, checks and other geometrical motifs that define the unique appeal of the saree. Lines, dots and thick borders in contrast and bright colors for the sarees are preferred by Santali women for their Baha or Flower festival. Here is how you can create an awe-inspiring fusion saree look.
- You can pick the masterpieces and make them captivating with a fusion look and appearance. Drape it the way you like and add accessories in motifs like animals, birds, Gods, and spikes. You are surely going to look expressive and artistic and transform the simple look of the saree into a designer one.
- You can also lift the look of the saree with trendy leather, silver, and embellished belts. Fancy footwear and rustic handbags can add to the Santali saree beauty.
- You can go for nose pins and silver bangles or jewellery in white colors to depict the tribal feel and trend.
How To Drape A Santali Saree
Step-1- Complete Turn Or Round Of The Saree
The inner edge of the saree must be tucked inside the petticoat and one complete round must be made by double knotting the saree at the right waist. One must ensure that the saree’s end shouldn’t touch the ground. Santali saree style doesn’t touch the floor.
Step-2- Making Pleats
Make about six to seven pleats at the front with the remaining fabric after the first wrap of the saree.
Step-3- Make The Broad Front Fold
Tuck one end of the wide remaining pallu to the back of the petticoat and take the remaining fabric over the left shoulder. You can leave it gathered or make neat pleats on the shoulder- the choice is yours.
Step-4- The Final Tuck
Bring the hanging loose end from anti-clockwise to the front and tuck it at the left-side waist.
