Samanna Shihab was in a fix with her bridal lehenga as she could not find the right shade of burnt orange anywhere until she came across KALKI’s exclusively curated designer lehenga in golden zari work embroidery inspired by the Mughal Architecture. At KALKI the bride never has to settle for anything other than what she has her heart set on because the collection is at once eclectic and inexhaustible. For Samanna it was quite an experience brainstorming with the KALKI crew to pick her dream dress in exactly the shade she had in mind and customize it to her needs. With the wedding fashion scene steadily revolutionizing, quirky colors like orange, fuchsia, and brown are back in vogue and many brides are opting for non-traditional styles and shades.

The Ravishing Details

Samanna’s one-of-a-kind Lehenga is originally available in Rani pink and woven in raw zardosi silk. It is heavily embroidered with dynamic cut danas, multi-colored motis, sequins, and floral patterns sewn in zari thread. The design of the wedding lehenga for the bride pays tribute to the glorious Mughal Architecture and emanates a royal allure. The traditional kalidar motifs beautifully compliment the intricate scallop detailing of the lehenga which comes with a side zip closure and tassel doris.

The lehenga blouse design is an extension of the lehenga tapestry and is embellished with sequins, beads outlining lotus patterns, and leaves motifs. The patterning of crisscross lines renders a chic and contemporary twist to the deeply vintage appeal of the rest of the outfit. The blouse has a sweetheart neckline with curved hemlines and a triangle cut-out at the back providing a modern and stylish touch.  The designer blouse is secured with padding and back hooks closure. Paired with the lehenga choli is a matching dupatta crafted in the net.

The dupatta is adorned with heavy threadwork along the hem and is set with sequins and buttis all over. The scallop detailing is done in golden zari and some shaped cut dana motifs that add an extra element of elegance.
