Destination weddings are a rage these days with picturesque locations, glamourous events, flamboyant wedding outfits, and luxurious arrangements being the highlight of the celebration. Both my partner and I Aashima Baweja wanted to have a lavish, ultra-luxurious wedding and that is why after dating for four years we asked our families to pack their bags as we had chosen to get married in a larger-than-life celebration in Dublin (Ireland), the place where we fell in love while doing our masters. Our king-size wedding venue, the palatial white castle along with the appealing décor made it a wedding to remember.  Apart from the euphoric three-day wedding celebration, which was an out-of-this-world experience, I had a delightful time shopping for my wedding attire from KALKI – a unique experience I will treasure for life.

Many people may raise an eyebrow in doubt upon hearing about buying something as valuable and important as a bridal dress online through a video call. But believe me, my experience with KALKI has been super amazing, and I have to admit it is one of the most convenient and reliable ways to buy bridal dresses.

I was very clear about wanting a unique fresh, and heavy red/maroon lehenga for my wedding. After exploring more than 20 designers looking for the perfect bridal dresses, I found my dream ensemble at KALKI, Delhi. The courteous staff at KALKI was exceptionally kind and provided me continuous assistance by showing me the bridal lehenga on a video call/facetime, taking my virtual measurements, and addressing all my queries patiently. They even made the small alterations that were required because of the change in my measurements before the final delivery. I was short of words to describe the ecstatic feeling I experienced after trying the stunning bridal lehenga which fit me perfectly like a glove. The seamless bridal online shopping experience with KALKI left me impressed with their remarkable capabilities in offering exquisite ethnic attires and delivering exemplary customer service.

The Super Gorgeous Wedding Attires

My Sangria(maroon) velvet Indian lehenga choli for wedding was the epitome of class and elegance. The Mughal-inspired hand-embroidered kalis in different shades of pink, silver, gold etc gave a resplendent effect and made the bridal lehenga look very royal. The pink dupatta, with its embroidered scalloping, enhanced the overall grace and elegance of the outfit. I chose to adorn an eye-catching kundan necklace set with evergreen jhumkas, a maangtikka, a nose ring, a haathphool, a kundan payal, and the customary chooda to achieve the look of a traditional bride. My make-up artist did a great job with soft and subtle make-up and a loose bun along with floral hair accessories which gave me an ethereal look.

Love Of My Life

My better half looked super charming in a regal off-white embroidered sherwani paired with a pink dupatta and a pink turban along with a kalgi. The sunglasses and classy watch flaunted by the dapper groom were a perfect way to elevate the overall look and add a touch of sophistication.

The way we carried ourselves with utmost ease and grace, along with our high spirits, was a reflection of the profound love we held for our bridal avatars.

Special Attention To The Nitty- Gritties

I am a sucker for perfection and like to get into the finest details of everything I do. I wanted romance to reflect in every aspect and that is why not only was the bridal lehenga chosen with a lot of heed but also the intricate henna design which comprised a Dulha – Dulhan. I wore a white kundan payal and a pair of uber-comfortable off-white platform heels that complemented the overall look. There was no way I was going to settle for anything less, not even my nail paint which was matching my wedding dress.

The Jhakaas Entry Of The Bride And Groom

The extravagant celebration extended beyond the wedding’s traditional rituals and customs. There were numerous moments of joy, mixed emotions, and amusement that are engraved in our cherished memories.

From the dashing groom’s spectacular entry, dancing exuberantly in a swanky white convertible, to the lively crowd of friends and family dancing joyously in front of his car, friends picking up the groom and carrying him to the entry point, the ribbon cutting ceremony, bride’s mom welcoming the groom with a tilak, bride’s family accompanying the groom till the mandap with gaana and bajaana, all these were invigorating moments that left everyone exhilarated and buzzing with joy.

It wasn’t only the groom and his family who rocked the wedding day, I too made an impressive bridal entry with total swag that swayed the guests. Adorned in the magnificent Indian bridal lehenga from KALKI, I walked down the stairs of the palatial white castle, on my way to the mandap in a mischievous way, dancing and sending my sweetheart love signals, accompanied by my rock-solid brothers, with a beautiful chaader over me.

Some Chatpati Moments and Memories

The natkhati moments of forcefully dropping kaleeras over a cousin, energetically jumping to put the garland around the groom’s neck while he kneels down, and sharing a sweet peck on the cheek after the varmaala were the liveliest memories of the day.

From the varmala to the mandap, the magical combination of white and maroon was intentionally chosen to match the grandness of the white castle and my mind-blowing maroon wedding dress.

The wedding photographers did a great job by capturing some precious moments like looking into each other’s eyes, me twirling around holding my soulmate’s hand, the kanyadaan ceremony etc. We savoured each moment of the special day with joy and gratitude, cherishing the beauty of the occasion and the love that bound us together.

I express my heartfelt gratitude to KALKI for helping me put up the best version of myself on my wedding day.
