Whether love or arranged, a wedding is a beautiful journey that needs to be nurtured with love, romance, faith, and acceptance. The binding force between two individuals has to be strong, and built on mutual respect, and commitment. I, Khushbu Dave, would like to share my journey of finding a partner who resonated with my beliefs and got me smitten with his charm.
The Humble Proposal
Finding your dream life partner is a cakewalk for many and for some, it could be a Herculean task. And when you are successful in finding one, at times you need to pinch yourself to check whether what you are experiencing is true or not. In my case, I had a constant fight with my conscience about my life partner because I wanted someone for whom I was not just a mere option but his chosen one. The memorable day of 20th January 2022 marked the beginning of a new love story KDDT (Khushbu Dave- Darshan Trivedi) where I was now fondly called as Kiddie Cup. Darshan and my bond was very open and he would never hesitate to speak whatever he had on his mind. Instead of the traditional proposal phrase “Will you marry me?”, he humbly asked me whether he should speak to my dad to which I honestly replied that love is the driving factor for me, and I would only marry for love. And as you can see, there was no looking back since then.
All Set to Rise In Love
I have complete faith in divine numbers and hence, I saw the bright day ahead as a gift from God. There wasn’t even an iota of anxiety as I proudly got ready to be Mr Darshan Trivedi’s bride. We were both more than happy to be getting married in an arranged set-up and were all set to grow and flourish in our love for each other. I could feel my heart pumping faster as the band came closer to our wedding venue and I couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of my beloved and to witness my dream unfold in a surreal way. We both felt on top of the world as we exchanged garlands, which is a sacred tradition of Hindu weddings. The vermilion-hued sindoor on my forehead was a symbol of love intertwined with responsibility. Our hearts were overflowing with gratitude and happiness and there was nothing else that mattered to us – not even capturing our couple pictures which is usually of grave importance to other couples.
The Surreal Emotions
As a cabin crew member, I’m very particular about the time but surprisingly on my wedding day I paid no heed to the time and was soaking in each moment with joy and bliss. I felt euphoric adorning my terrific bridal wear and getting dolled up for my beloved. The atmosphere was ecstatic and surrounded by a blissful aura.
Destined Discovery At KALKI
I am a firm believer in the famous quotation “What’s meant to be yours will come to you.” As I witnessed it in my own case. I was supposed to visit Roopkala to shop for my wedding lehenga, but the cab driver accidentally dropped my sister, mom, and me in front of KALKI Fashion. Now that we had gotten down in front of the famous store, we decided to have a look at the variety of bridal attires there. Little did I know that the small mistake of the cab driver would become a boon for me. While glancing through the mesmerising collection of lehengas for wedding my eyes fell on one particular red bridal lehenga that hypnotised me. Even after checking out so many other wedding lehengas, I couldn’t get my eyes off the red lehenga I spotted first. Ultimately within an hour, we were done with both choosing and booking that great masterpiece for my wedding.
The Epic First Look Moment
After finalizing my red wedding lehenga, Darshan and I visited KALKI. As expected, he loved my choice and mentioned that it was exactly what he had envisioned for me to wear. Even on the wedding day, he made me feel extra special by complimenting me when he saw me in my bridal avatar and whispered into my ears, “KD, this is just perfect.”
The Captivating Bridal Lehenga
For my special day, I chose a glamorous red raw silk heavily embroidered Indian bridal lehenga. The exquisite artistry of aari work embroidery and luxurious zardozi work made the bridal ensemble look splendid. The exquisite bridal lehenga was paired with two beautiful dupattas, one in red and the other in pink which elevated the look of the red lehenga manifold. My look was enhanced with eye-catching kundan bridal jewellery which consisted of a stunning long necklace, a matha patti, a maang tikka, an arm belt, a nose ring, bangles with precious stones, rings, and the customary chooda. The subtle makeup and the hair bun adorned with pink roses made me look charming and graceful. My soul mate looked resplendent in a green and white achkan set. The golden turban and the kalgi added to his princely aura. Together we looked like a match made in heaven.
Kuch Yaadgar Pal
My wedding was a blissful experience filled with surreal moments, but certain moments are very special to my heart. One such super special moment was a surprise for Darshan that brought a wide smile to his face was when my cute little niece, nephew, and students welcomed him with placards just before the varmala. Seeing Darshan’s happiness was priceless. I also enjoyed posing in my bridal avatar to make cherished memories of a lifetime.
Our wedding ceremony was a blessing, conducted with all the sacred customs meticulously observed, including the gathbandhan, kanyadaan, and saat pheras, surrounded by our beloved family and friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start our new life ahead.
