Na koi pandit, na koi dost, na koi rishtedaar… bas ek phone ke through hua inka pyaar. Let us read Radha and Prashant’s love story that began through the most important gadget of our lives these days.
When Your Phone Becomes Your Lucky Charm
Prashant’s and my love story started with an ordinary “Hey” text message, but it led to a whole new chapter in our lives. That simple “Hey” turned into flirtatious messages and then into exchanging love SMSs all night. It was a long-distance relationship, so meeting in person was out of the question, but we were so sure in our minds that this relationship was for keeps, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Just like when your gut tells you that this is your chosen one, we knew we were made for each other.
Love For The Traditional Wedding Lehenga
Shopping for my Indian bridal lehenga wasn’t just a task to be ticked off the to-do list; rather, it was an emotion, a heartwarming experience I shall cherish forever. I have fond memories of sitting on the couches on the top floor of the KALKI store. A collection of stunning traditional Indian wedding clothing, each with a distinctive colour, silhouette, fabric, and embroidery, was presented before us. I tried on a few of the gorgeous shaadi lehengas and remember feeling like a princess in one of the super scintillating magenta wedding lehengas. However, I had always pictured myself in a traditional red wedding dress and thus chose to explore more options. After trying on a few more dazzling designer wedding dresses, I finally found the bridal outfit I was looking for. I chose a mesmerizing orange bridal lehenga with a dash of red, beadwork, peek-hole sleeves, a beautiful neckline, an orange net dupatta, and a gorgeous red veil that completed the look. I was very elated to find this ultra-glamorous outfit for my special day.

The Ravishing Lehenga
My wedding lehenga was no less than a masterpiece which made me feel on top of the world. The orange-coloured lehenga with intricate embroidery, floral motifs, orange, red, and gold thread work along with two dupattas one in red and one in orange, and an embroidered belt with tassels gave an alluring look. I choose a heavy necklace set, a maang tikka, and a stack of bangles to complete the look. The flawless make up along with a bun added flair to my personality. Prashant looked charming in a white sherwani along with a dupatta, a turban, and a kalgi.

Moments As Precious As Gold
Thanks to the Almighty, I had a blissful wedding filled with many precious, heartfelt moments. As always, my husband was late on the wedding day. The over-energetic baraatis had reached the venue but just wouldn’t stop dancing. They even pulled my side of the family to join them in their high-octane party. I was patiently waiting in the car, enjoying watching all my loved ones having a gala time and rejoicing in happiness. I too wished to jump out of the car and shake a leg, but I waited for my turn so that I could make a grand entry.
The Grand Entry
And I sure did. I entered the venue dancing to the beats of the dhol and music, oblivious to the whole wide world. I was accompanied to the altar by the beautiful ladies of my family, while all my brothers held a canopy of flowers over me as I walked. As I moved forward towards my beloved, sparklers went off, and I could hear the cheering and clapping, with beautiful smiles and all eyes glued to me. This moment, with my loved ones by my side and my beloved’s reaction upon seeing me all dolled up, was the most soul-satisfying moment that made me feel on cloud nine. I also enjoyed posing for the shutterbugs and obliged them with a naughty pose, winking at the camera. I loved the feeling of being showered with flowers during the pheras, which symbolized being showered with blessings.

Thank You, God For Landing Me At KALKI!!
My wedding was fixed for January 2024 and because I live in Canada, I planned to visit India a few weeks before the wedding date to shop for the special day. However, my father decided to be here months before the wedding so that we could get done with all the wedding preparations in time. And so, we were in India in September all charged up to do the “shaadi ki tayaari”. The first boutique we visited for my bridal outfits had a power cut and therefore we landed up at KALKI, Mumbai to have a look at their collection of wedding dresses. The super welcoming and warm staff guided us to the top floor where we were assisted by the super helpful and knowledgeable sales manager, Pavan. It was because of Pavan’s expertise and his willingness to help that my experience with KALKI was smooth and seamless.
The One-Stop Shop For Bridal Wear
KALKI is a one-stop shop for all bridal wear Indian like sangeet outfits for bride, haldi dress for women, gown or frock for reception, lehenga for mehndi etc and because of their stupendous collection that left me spellbound I bought three wedding outfits from KALKI. Selecting my haldi outfit, grah shanti outfit, and wedding lehenga from one premium store was a huge relief that also brought me immense happiness. I got my outfits customised and Pavan made sure that he kept us in the loop while they were being produced. He displayed perfection and professionalism until we walked out of KALKI all happy and gay with our glamorous outfits in our hands. The power outage proved to be a blessing in disguise for us.
