It is truly said, ‘Marriages are made in heaven.’ Well, I, Shreya Singh, completely agree with this quote as I witnessed it in my case. How else would someone living across the seven seas become a part of my life? I would like to share my ‘seedhi saadi prem kahani’ and my wonderful, out-of-this-world experience with KALKI.

From Pyaar To Ikraar

While our love story may not be filled with twists and turns or be particularly unique, it certainly proves that distance cannot come between love. It also demonstrates that where there is a will, there is a way. My husband AJ and I met through a family friend, and despite living in different parts of the world – he in Canada and I in Delhi – our love continued to blossom. He flew down to Delhi, and after getting to know each other for a couple of weeks, he finally popped the question, to which I readily said “Yes”. That marked the beginning of our romance, which flourished through long video calls. After several visits to India, we got engaged, and after a love-struck courtship period of eight months, we decided to solemnize our bond and got married on November 28, 2023.

From Pastels To Red: A 180 Degrees Turn

I have always been a fan of pastel colours and was quite clear that I would want to adorn them for my wedding. However, my mindset took a 180-degree turn the moment my eyes fell on the red traditional Indian bridal lehenga with an ivory touch at KALKI. I was smitten by it the moment I saw it and was ready to ditch my all-time favourite pastels. I had always dreamt of wearing something that would enhance my personality, boost my confidence, and make me feel special. After trying on this lehenga, I felt exactly the way I wanted to feel. My mother, too, went head over heels for this alluring ensemble the moment she saw me wearing it, and it was she who convinced me to go for it without a second thought. Undoubtedly, the ivory touch gave a modern look to the timeless red traditional Indian bridal wear, which looked no less than a masterpiece.

The Jaw-Dropping Outfits

I was totally in love with my apple red fully embroidered raw silk Indian bridal lehenga. The resham, zardozi, beads, sequins, and cut dana work in a floral jaal pattern enhanced the look of the lehenga. The butterflies embroidered over the cream buttis made the ensemble very eye-catching. It was paired with a matching embroidered net dupatta with floral buttis and a beautiful border. My bridal jewellery, consisting of a maang tikka, a matha patti, a nose ring, a choker set, a long rani haar, and bangles, made me look ethereal. The customary kaleeras and chooda added a touch of culture to the look. The makeup and hairstyle were on point and made me feel on top of the world. AJ also looked very regal in a white heavily embroidered sherwani along with a heavy dupatta and a turban. The kalgi, juttis, and necklace added oomph to the overall look and mesmerized all the guests. I’m sure we both looked our best on our special day.

The Most Cherished Wedding Shenanigans

A wedding is one of the most special days in one’s life, filled with precious memories. Among these, certain moments stand out and are cherished forever. One such unforgettable incident for me is the varmala ceremony. I decided to playfully tease AJ by not allowing him to put the garland on me. However, being the smart guy he is, AJ cracked a joke that instantly made me bow down to him, thus accomplishing his mission. Posing for photographs in romantic poses like two love birds was another treasured memory that will always hold a special place in our hearts and bring us happy tears.

Full Marks To KALKI

My association with KALKI began long before my wedding. I am proud to say that my sister, who resides in the USA, and I have always been admirers of KALKI’s stunning ensembles. We have been loyal customers since the time KALKI was only available online and provided the facility of shipping its products abroad. I was so confident about KALKI’s mind-blowing collection of bridal dresses that I decided to go with them for my first ceremony, the engagement ceremony. As expected, I received a lot of compliments for the gorgeous outfit.

Overwhelmed with my look and all the appreciation I received, I knew then and there that I wasn’t buying my wedding outfit from any place other than KALKI. I ended up purchasing all my bridal dresses from KALKI, including the sangeet outfit. KALKI’s charm extended to Canada, where my husband, AJ, also bought his wedding sherwani from them through a video call. The process of finalizing his sherwani and giving measurements virtually was very smooth and hassle-free. My family has never encountered a more experienced, courteous, and cooperative staff than the ones at KALKI. They ensure they listen to all your requirements carefully and help you fulfil them as well. Moreover, the quality of the products is incomparable and always stands out. Kudos to KALKI team.
