For those skeptical about ‘matches made in heaven,’ our love story will make believers out of you. It’s a tale reminiscent of a classic Bollywood romance with a happily-ever-after ending. Join Ansh and me on a tale that redefines destiny and love.

Saga Of The Ziddi Dil

Ansh and I (Romika Ansh Nigam), lived in the same apartment building. We started as best friends and as luck would have it, we started dating after two years. Friction between our families, coupled with our own personal problems impacted our relationship and raised doubts whether our connection was truly destined. By God’s grace, all the issues were eventually resolved, and after 10 years of “saccha pyaar”, Ansh and I entered into a beautiful wedlock in the most spectacular way. I feel blessed to have found Ansh as a life partner who never let me go, even when the relationship was hanging by a loose thread. This quality of his made me believe in true love and makes me proud that we possess a “Ziddi Dil”.

Hunt For “The” Bridal Lehenga

Our wedding in Goa, set against the lush green palm trees, the myriad shades of blue in the ocean, and the sunlit sky as the backdrop, was a truly blissful experience. Since we chose Goa as our wedding destination, and because of my love for subtle colours, I was clear that I wouldn’t opt for the traditional red bridal lehenga.

Surprisingly, my first visit to the KALKI store in Mumbai with my mom left me spellbound as I fell in love with one of the magnificent bridal lehengas on display. I visited 5-7 reputed bridal wear stores in Mumbai and Surat to find something more alluring and attractive but all my efforts were in vain as I couldn’t find any other lehenga choli which was half as good as the one I had seen at KALKI. So, my ziddi dil once again led me back to the KALKI store, this time with my sister and jijaji. As expected, they too were left speechless after seeing me adorned in the exquisite masterpiece. And finally, on the third visit, with instant approval from my dad, I sealed the deal and bought my dream lehenga from KALKI.

Exemplary Customer Service Beyond Compare

Finalising my wedding lehenga wouldn’t have been such a wonderful experience without the expert advice, genuine feedback, friendly approach, and remarkable patience of the extra courteous staff at KALKI, Mumbai and above all Rohit the in-house stylist who went above and beyond, not only guiding me through the selection process but also painting a vivid picture of how resplendent I would look in that gorgeous lehenga on my D-day. The extensive product knowledge and insightful suggestions on choosing colours in line with the theme and my skin tone filled a puzzled bride with confidence and delight.

The Magical Essence Of The Pastels

In sync with the laid-back Goan vibes pastel colours were chosen as the theme of the wedding which had all the enthusiastic guests dressed up in light colours including my bridesmaids who looked angelic in light pastel pink lehengas. My adorable sisters held the phoolon ki chadar over me as I walked down the aisle in tears to complete my tumultuous love story.

The “Dreamy Lehenga”

My dreamy purplish pink bridal lehenga in raw silk with aari work embroidery, highlighted with luxurious zardozi work, and paired with a plunging neckline blouse and two dupattas looked jaw-droppingly beautiful. The burgundy colour dupatta over the head which was coordinated with my mother’s outfit looked spectacular and added an extra pop to the ensemble. The intricate embroidery using mauve, white, and pink beads, and tassels on the blouse and the lehenga made the lehenga one of its kind, leaving people curious about its weight and how I was carrying it with grace and panache. Even though I tried three equally alluring lehengas at KALKI, I knew from the very first moment this was “The One”. The bridal jewellery including the maang tikka, matha patti, heavy necklace set with pink stones, a nose ring, a bold ring, and colourful bangles made me feel truly regal and on top of the world.

Ansh too stuck to the pastel theme and adorned a white embroidered sherwani with a pink turban and a pink dupatta. His look was enhanced with a pearl necklace, a kalgi, and white juttis. We just wanted the moment to pause as we hugged, allowing the feeling that our union was real, to sink in.

The Million Dollar Yaadein!!

Highlights of the wedding were a few emotional special moments such as my surprise entry in the bridal avatar which got both Ansh and me teary-eyed with overwhelming happiness, Ansh reading out a few lines he had penned down for me in front of everyone, and our photoshoot in our wedding attires. From posing solo with a dupatta over my head and a bouquet of flowers in my hand, to getting clicked walking hand in hand with my better half all these moments were filled with joy, contentment, and gratitude.
